the face behind read between the minds
Charlotte Heystek is a Dutch national currently living in New Zealand. Her mixed Dutch-Indonesian background has fueled her interest in travelling and internationalisation. Over the years, she has managed to create several opportunities to broaden her global perspective. Spending time in Europe, Japan, Thailand and now New Zealand, allowed her to learn from people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Charlotte holds a Master’s degree in Intercultural Communication from Utrecht University. Her international work experience has strengthened skills and knowledge in the field and she conducted her Masters research at SLI Systems in Christchurch. Charlotte also holds a Bachelor’s qualification in Gender Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Information Science, from which she graduated completing her traineeship at the Dutch Embassy in Bangkok. Charlotte was Editor in Chief of the not-for-profit organisation Indisch3.0 in the Netherlands and has worked in the hospitality industry for 10 years.
