about the author
My name is Kaitlyn Goellner, and I’m a nineteen-year-old student at Arizona State University. I’m studying English and psychology, and I’m currently in my junior year of school. I’m attending ASU through the Starbucks College Achievement Program, a program where working for Starbucks is what pays for my tuition. Outside of my education, I love to write, poetry, journaling, short stories… You name it, and I probably enjoy writing it! Now, let’s get into why I’m creating this blog.
I’m currently in a course called “Scholarly Products,” a course where we, students, take what we’ve learned over the course of our education and put that knowledge to use to create a public-facing humanities project to demonstrate our understanding of cultural analysis and interpretation, research methods, and writing for diverse audiences. When I started this course, I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do for my final project. It took weeks for an idea to even come to mind, but I had thought, what if I combined my interest in psychology and English education and made something out of that? Which leads us to where we’re at now: a blog where I investigate a variety of topics that have to do with English education or developmental psychology to discuss what cultural or environmental factors come into play.
I’m not sure what my plan is after graduating with my degrees, but I’m optimistic about the future and whatever it may bring! I hope you all enjoy reading my blog and becoming a part of this community!
